Description
Ca. 2000 BC An ancient Sumerian temple foundation cone of clay with a flat base on the broadside and a rounded tip on the opposite side. The body inscribed with vertical lines of cuneiform script. The inscription in numerous columns originates from Gudea. Size: L:125mm / W:30mm ; 300g Provenance: Propert of a London Ancient Art gallery; formerly acquired in 2003 in Paris from A. Kotlar. He has had the items since the 1970s and it was in a French collection since the 1950s or 1960s.
